Let’s Get Vintage!!

Happy Friday y’all!!  Today we are getting vintage!!

I’ve been itching to scrap these pics of our family ladies tea for a couple of reasons, first of all, we were all dressed up and looking fancy and ummm…how often do you get a photo op with the queen?!  LOL! Well a cardboard cut out of her but still.  So needless to say this layout required just the right combination of class and style but I couldn’t lose my usual grit I normally like to have on a layout.  Then the October kit came and I knew this was the kit to tackle these pics!  I mean, hello…that Hambly overlay?  *swoon*  I was in my element to say the least.  Well enough talk…let’s take a closer peek, shall we?

Let me start with the Prima flower in the middle I toned the bright pink down a bit with the Tattered Angels Ivory paint in the kit and glittered the edges up with the Gold Glimmer paint.  Took a while for paint to dry on that felt but it was worth the effect I think.

I knew I wanted to use that glorious Hambly overlay (which I cut up in bits and pieces and cherished).   So I cut the large frame and started layering from there.

I loved the way it looked on top of the 7 Gypsies Architectures Floral Guide Paper but as I cut and layered more pieces and then stencil some painted feathers with the Tattered Angels Ivory paint (and by the way the paint covered really well on that transparency),  I decided to place a plain sheet of clear transparency over the 7 Gypsies paper.  I begin attaching everything to the clear transparencty so everything had an even “transparency” gloss and the seems didn’t appear so harsh and evident.  Then I started hand stitching!  I stitched the little tag on to include some journaling, I’m not much on a lot of journaling text so that was perfect.

Then I knew I had to include some vintage linens, hello…it’s Antiqued Friday!  So I pulled out my linen stash and found these wonderful cross stitched pieces and sewed them on.   I was pretty happy with the look of how it turned out.  All that was left was the title so I just searched through my alphas and popped on some trusty ‘ol alpha stickers from my stash and inked up all the edges and I was done.  It all really came together and suited the mood of the pics pretty well.   I hope y’all are inspired to get your vintage on today on your layouts and projects today!!
