February Bad Girls Couture DT Challenge

Welcome! We are ready to inspire you with challenge projects that we created using the February Kit! If you love fabric, this month’s kit is for you! It has a variety of fabrics to make your heart happy! The girls had fun incorporating fabric on their projects! Take a look at what they created and learn a technique or two.

For this layout, I decided to use a big piece of fabric to help frame the photo. The peach fabric blended in nicely with the papers. I used some glue to glue a small piece of fabric towards the top of the tag to add more texture which helped frame the photo nicely. Then, I decorated a manila tag that I had in my stash using strips of ribbon that I cut about 1/4″ then tied them through the hole to add a little home spun touch to the layout.

The vintage looking fabrics included in this month’s kit inspired me to scrap this vintage photo of my mom with her first car. I just love the way the photo looks on that pile of pretty fabric! She named the car “Crash” and you can be sure there is more to that story… that’s why I left that empty white space on the left… for her to add her own journaling! Lots of the lovely chipboard pieces finished off the bottom and of course help set off the fun stenciling that I did using the Molding Paste and the Prima stencil included in the kit. I just love scrapping vintage photos! Do you?

These fabrics are so pretty! I decided to make flowers and leaves out of them. I cut strips of the green fabric and sewed them to make them look like leaves. I used a die to cut out some flower pieces of the dark and light peach colored fabrics. I topped the large flower with one of the Prima Marketing flowers from the kit. I took the lighter fabric and hand cut it to make two rolled flowers. I topped off the flowers with some glass beads to add a bit of sparkle!
