Happy Heart Mini

For this “Happy Heart” mini, I used the Maya Road chipboard binder (which is uber cute by itself) and grudged it up a bit with some crackle paint and various acrylic paints to give it a weathered look.

Then I just stared layering on things that I liked together since this is a happy project after all!  I painted and distressed one of the little prima flowers from the kit as well as one I had left over from the January kit.  I gessoed them and then added some acrylic paints and texture paste to the edges to add some more interest and dimension.

I did some hand cutting on the Crate Paper sheets to make some little buds peeking out behind the American Crafts metallic bird chipboard sticker.  The “happy” chipboard tag is also from the American Crafts stickers in the kit and I just tied a bit of scrap silk to the top.  Another feature I did for some dimension was to sew a little pouch made from the tulle in the kit and I suspended some leaf sequins inside.  Finally I added the metallic “heart” chipboard sticker with some pop dots on top.

As for the inside, well that’s where my “repurpose” comes from!  I used the clear dolly printed packaging inside the prima flowers and cut out little transparent dividers for my mini!  I really love the look it gives.

Well I hope you enjoyed my little mini and I hope you are able to squeeze some scrappy love in your life today to make your heart happy!!
