March Bad Girls DT Challenge
Welcome! We are ready to inspire you with challenge projects that we created using the March Kit! This month, we let the designers challenge themselves… to create whatever inspired them at the moment with no limitations or boundaries. We wanted them to have fun and just create… and enjoy the process. We are excited to share these fabulous creations with you! These projects will blow your minds.
This month, I challenged myself to play with the acrylic paint and screen. I created this gorgeous background by squeezing three big globs of acrylic paint on to white cardstock. Then I took another piece of cardstock and placed it over the acrylic paint and smeared it a bit. Once the paint was dry, I toned the colors down by applying gesso on top of the paint. I used a credit card to smear lime paint around the edges of my layout.

“Hello Gorgeous” Frame – I made this one for this month’s challenge. I challenged myself to sue the chipboard pieces in a different and functional way. I knew I wanted to make a display type piece for a photo or one of the word cards that was in the kit but I needed to figure out how to make it functionally possible so that the card would stand on it’s own. I figured out that I could stand the chipboard pieces up and make sort of a rail for the card to slide in and out of so it’s changeable. I painted and altered one of the silk flowers in the kit then layered some green moss to form sort of a nest. I then painted a plastic egg with the blue paint from the kit and speckled it with some brown ink. For the photo/card “rails” I stood the chipboard pieces up and glued them down and slid the card in. The card itself is just decorated with some of the canvas resist letters that were lightly brushed over with a green ink pad and sewn on the card.

This is my attempt at creating a simple layout! I started with a piece of white card stock that I added some stenciling to with Bad Girls Couture Molding Paste. Then, I sponged on some of the blue paint from the kit onto the stenciling. I cut 4 circles from the blue papers int he kit in various sizes and used black chalk ink on the edges. The chipboard from the kit was painted white and stamped with the coordinating stamp with black archival ink, then slightly inked with teal chalk ink. I added some black accents from my stash (the flowers and crystal swirl).
