Hey Y’all! For today’s Color Splash I thought I would show you how to spice up your gesso! I used gesso as a background medium for a fun paint pulling technique I’ve been wanting to try and I thought you would enjoy it too!
I did a quick little process video to show you how I used the Haute Mess Gesso mixed with a bit of Metallic Mixing Medium and then layered with a coat of Floetrol as a base for this cool paint pulling technique. Check it out and then see the pics for more details of how I pulled the entire spread together.
After I was finished with the feathers (as seen in the video) I dropped some gold metallic acrylic ink and allowed it all to dry well then rubbed a bit more gold over the top to highlight the texture a bit. I then used the Bad & Tatted Haute Mess paint and freehanded the title as well as using some foam letter stamps to stamp the rest of the title. I also made some freehand cross marks and then took a black ink pad and distressed both pages. See the supply list below for a list of all supplies used.
