Splatters, Rips, and Flair, Oh My!

Hello, friends!

Today I’m sharing a grungy layout I made using the January scrapbook kit with the FABULOUS 7 Dots Paint Chips papers! My style is usually shabby chic-like, but I have two boys, so it’s fun to do some grunge-type layouts, and this kit was perfect for that!

I started out by adding some circle stenciling with distress ink, and also some faux stitching to the edge of the base layer. This is easy to do- if you have one of those sewing wheels, you can just run along the paper, and then pierce the holes with a needle, then trace it with a marker. I also ripped the paper and used some black cardstock in between those layers for added dimension.

I cut some circles from the blue/green paper, then stamped each of them using a stitched circle stamp with embossing medium, and added black embossing powder. I added flair to 3 of the four circles.

On the bottom circle, I added some stars, and some numbers from my stash, which is the title of the layout (15, because this pic was taken on my son’s 15th birthday).

I inked the paint splatters chipboard with black archival ink, and added the layout. I also added some  word stickers.

Lastly, I added many splatters over the entire layout, except for the photo. I added both black and white India ink from my stash, and some of the blue Tattered Angels Glitter Glam.

Thanks for checking out my project, and go to the shoppes and pick up a kit, if you aren’t already a subscriber!
