Hello, Bad Girlies. Donna here with a new project to share. I added another altered page to my PaperDoll Palace Canvas Art Journal and I hope you like it.
I created a shabby chic altered journal page with a beautifully textured background. I first brushed some Gesso over the surface before I added texture using a stencil and the Haute Mess Molding Paste. Once dried, I brushed Drop dead gorgeous and Couture Pink over.
Using another brush, I diluted Grunge with a bit of water and splattered over. I wiped off a little bit of the excess.
After everything has dried, I started embellishing with papers, die cuts, flourishes etc from the Ladylike collection from Kaisercraft.
Here is the process video I prepared for you to watch. I hope you like my art journal page as much as I do.
Thanks for dropping by and see you in my next post!
Autumn is my favorite time of the year, magical .. Fresh cool air, warm light of windows, nature incredible colors and sun rays illuminating this splendor.
And all of this inspired me. I created a page in my “COBBLESTONE LANE” Art Journal.
To make the background I used Haute Mess Paints.
I chose both bright and delicate shades. I wanted to combine them together for the best result.
I added paper cutting, hand-made flowers, metal key and photo of girls-caterpillars. Finally I added paint splashes. The last one was the inscription.
I have made with the products by Bad Girls Couture.
In the video you can see the whole process of creating this page:
I used different scraps of paper, frames, flower and butterfly, which remained after the creation of other projects! I do not throw anything away and love to use such sets for new works!
Used this palette:

Happy Monday everybody! I have a fun art journal spread I created using the Velvet Dot Pocket Page. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what I would do with this pocket page. I was completely stumped… And then I spotted a few manila tags and got an idea. I love when that happens!
To begin, I tucked some plastic packaging material behind the pocket so that the paint would not bleed through the back of the pocket page. Then I applied two coates of the X-rated Haute Mess Acrylic Paint. I applied heat to the pocket page using a heat gun and then I embellished the pocket using stickers and chipboard pieces from Pink Paislee’s Indigo & Ivy collection. Love this collection!
And just for the record… this guy IS my happy place. I love him to pieces.
I painted the tags with the Last Sin and Naked Paint. Once both tags were dry, I embellished them with a few transparency die cuts and stickers. I used Creative Memories’ Lace Border Punch to punch the bottom of the tags to make them more feminine.
It was no accident that I scrapped the pocket page spread next to the other spread. The pages look nice side-by-side.
Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you have a fantastic week!
Hello, Bad Girlies… It’s Donna here with a new art journal page to share. I altered one of the pages in my PaperDoll Palace Pink Canvas Art Journal.
Since it’s Repurpose Thursday, I added this corrugated cardboard from one of my daughter’s toy boxes. I always have one in my stash, mostly used in replacement of foam tapes. For my art journal, it added texture to the background instead.
After all the paint has dried, I started decorating it with stickers & ephemera pieces from the Kaisercraft Journey collection. I used foam tape and regular adhesive to place everything, it’s pretty easy and straightforward. I also added some messy thread as well.
I hope this inspired you to be creative today. See you in my next post!
Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting!
Happy weekend y’all!! I hope you are having a wonderful one so far! I’m going to be honest with you, when I sat down to work in my journal this week I was at a loss. Creativity was not my friend and I just wasn’t feeling it. I decided I was going to make a background and layer a few pieces and call it a day. I had no really direction when I started.
Since I really enjoyed my sheet music page I did last week but didn’t have another page in my journal like that I grabbed a page from a vintage hymnal and brushed on some watered down “Fallen Angel” Haute Mess acrylic paint.
I then mixed some Haute Mess molding paste and mixed some “Kiss & Don’t Tell” acrylic paint and applied it over a stencil onto the page before removing the stencil to reveal the design.
Once the tinted molding paste was dried I applied a bit of “Grunge” Haute Mess” acrylic paint with a pallet knife. I love that this paint is so nice and thick, it really lends itself to this type of application and still gave some great added texture.
Really loving the design at this point, I decided to add some diluted “Torrid” Haute Mess acrylic paint to give a watercolor effect to the center of the heart. (this has become one of my favorite colors and favorite ways to apply it)
By this point I decided I was no longer just making a background. I had found my design and realized I had just perfectly framed my title. From there everything just totally made sense. I inked up a distressed line rubber stamp with some “Bad & Tatted” Haute Mess acrylic paint and stamped it at the bottom of the page to give it an anchor point.
Then I added the butterfly diecut sticker and layered a Tim Holtz paper doll to reflect the them of the page.
Finally I added a metallic rub over the page to give it some shimmer.
Hello, Bad Girlies. Donna here with a new Art Journal inspiration.
It’s a really simple and easy one to make and you re-create it yourself in a few steps.
I dry brushed strips of Bad & Tatted onto the background.
Then I used a stencil and added texture spreading molding paste using a spatula. I made this into a heart shape.
I watered down Caution Tape and splattered some once the molding paste has dried.
It’s time for decorating! I cut a heart shape from a piece of paper and adhered to the center of the heart-shaped textured surface. Then I mixed stickers and cut-apart to embellish the page.
The embellishing is simply basic I just decorated the heart shape in the middle. Super easy, right?
Something you can easily re-create with a couple of Bad Girls Couture Acrylic paints and mediums.
I hope this inspired you to create something today!
Thanks for dropping by and see you in my next post.

Hi friends. I’m back with another art journal spread I created for Bad Girls Couture. My sister posted these maternity photos on FaceBook and I fell in love!! Of course, I had to scrap them…
To begin, I mixed some Last Sin and Broken Doll acrylic paint with some Molding Paste to give the paint more texture. Then I used the Rose Swirl 6″x9″ Stencil to create a pretty background for my spread.
Once the background was completely dry, I used some Pink Paislee embellishments to decorate the layout. The tiny tag is from Jillibean Soup.
I kept this spread pretty simple with the main focus on the adorable photos of my pregnant sister and her dog!
I’ve included a quick video so you can see how quickly this layout came together.
Thanks for visiting today!
Today I’m with a new Mixed Media project – and it’s again Art-journal page.
I have made with the incredible products by Bad Girls Couture.
