RE-PURPOSED BOX

Good morning friends! Last year I subscribed to Dropps to help make the planet a better place by cutting down the amount of plastic goods I buy. I also recycle everything I can… as I was about to throw this box away, I thought it would make a cute gift box… or a cute box to have on my scrap desk.

To begin, I coated the box using clear gesso. I like using clear gesso because the paint stays true to their colors! Bad Girls Couture carries their own Clear Gesso…I ran out. White gesso could make the colors lighter.

I used a heat gun to speed up the drying time. Once the clear gesso was completely dry, I used the Kiss & Don’t TellBad & TattedCaution Tape and Sweet Candy Kisses acrylic paint to cover the entire box on the outside. I used the heat gun to dry the paint in between colors so the colors would not smear.

Once the paint was dry, I added some yellow circles all over the box. Then I mixed the Bad & Tatted acrylic paint with some molding paste to smear over the flower stencil from my stash.

I used Matte Gel to glue the stickers and die cuts down then covered them using the gel.

I used some heavy body gel to glue the buttons and chipboard pieces down.

This box was soooo much fun to alter. I can’t wait to alter another one.

What do you think? Have you re-purposed anything recently? I’m always thinking of fun things to alter instead of throwing them in the trash!

Thanks for visiting today!

Playing with Molding Paste and X-rated Paint

Good morning friends. It’s my favorite time of year! I LOVE fall. I love the crisp, cool air and the changing leaves. And my neighborhood is beautiful with all of the trees. I’m looking forward to taking a few pictures. Today I’m sharing a fall layout that I created using molding paste, stencil and X-rated paint.

I kept this layout pretty simple. I wanted to focus on the photos, but I love the leaves stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop and had to find a way to use it!

I used Creative Memories’ Gather Together collection to embellish this layout.

I hope I’ve inspired you today. Thanks for stopping by!

Choose Happiness Canvas with Lisa Amiet

Hello Bad Girls!
It’s Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you all!
I have a canvas that I have created
‘I Choose Happiness’

I have started with a canvas that I had laying around.
I have first sealed it with a coat of ‘Haute Mess Gesso’.

I have then used a stencil and some ‘Haute Mess Molding Paste’,
to stencil a pattern onto my canvas.

I have then added some colour using my ‘Haute Mess Acrylic Paints’ in
‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’, ‘Sweet Candy Kisses’ and ‘First Crush’.
I have added water to them to get a natural flow on my canvas.

I have then layered some papers, elements and die cuts in
co-ordinating colours to build up a focus for my canvas.

I hope that you like what I have created,
and that it inspires you to have a play today.

Lisa

‘Note’ Art Journal page with Lisa Amiet + VIDEO

Hello bad girls!
It’s Lisa here today to share an Art Journal page that I have created in my
‘Park Ave Penthouse’ Journal

I have worked with one of the white canvas pages,
and this is what I came up with…

I have started with a coat of ‘Haute Mess White Gesso’, to seal my page.
I have then used a stencil and some ‘Haute Mess Molding Paste’ to stencil my page.

I have then used some Haute Mess Acrylic Paint in ‘Last Sin’,
mixed with some water, to help the flow.

Next, I have used some Haute Mess Acrylic Paint in ‘Make it Rain’, again mixed with some water.

I have then mixed some Haute Mess Acrylic Paints in ‘Make it Rain’ and ‘Bad & Tatted’,
to make my own darker greyer blue, and mixed it with water.

I then used a watered-down ‘Bad & Tatted’ Acrylic Paint for my last layer of colour.
I have then stamped away with blank ink and some of my fave stamps.

I have then pulled together some embellishments to help pull my page together.
I have built up my layers and added some Haute Mess ‘Glass Bead Gel’,
to random areas of my page.

To finish, I have used some Haute Mess Acrylic Paint in ‘Fallen Angel’,
to splatter over my finished page.

There is a full process video of the creation of this page that you can watch below.

Until next time!

‘Draw New Lines’ Art Journal Page with Lisa Amiet + VIDEO

Hello Girls!
It’s Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you.

I have created an Art Journal Page,
from my ‘Park Ave Penthouse Journal’.

I have started with one of the black card pages,
with black zig-zag stitching around the edges.

I have then used my ‘Haute Mess Clear Gesso’, to seal my page.
I have then added some ‘Haute Mess Matte Gel Medium’ to add some texture to my page,
as it will set, if you can see brush strokes, they will stay as texture.

I have torn up some pieces of collage papers and used my ‘Haute Mess Matte Gel Medium’,
to adhere them to my page.
I have then mixed some ‘Matte Gel Medium’ with my ‘Haute Mess Acrylic Paint’ in ‘X-Rated’.
I have roughly added patches of the yellow, leaving lines and lumpy bits that will set.

I have then used a stencil and my ‘Haute Mess Molding Paste’, to stencil a pattern.
I have then used ‘Haute Mess Acrylic Paint’ in ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ to stencil through the same stencil,
with a sponge.

I have then mixed some of my ‘Haute Mess Glass Bead Gel’ together with some
‘Haute Mess Acrylic Paint’ in ‘Sweet Candy Kisses’.
I have applied it roughly, with a palette knife.

To finish I have added some more collage papers torn up.
I have added a quote that I love,
and some letters to spell out my title.

I also have a process VIDEO of exactly how this page came together.

Spring Market Art Journal Page

Hello all! It’s Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you.

I have an Art Journal spread, that I created to give me back the feel of Spring,
as it is starting cool down here now.

For this one, I have started with the polka dot half page and the black cardstock page behind it.
I wanted these pages to work together.

I have used my Haute Mess White Gesso & Molding Paste to my pages.

I have then added some colour using my Haute Mess Acrylic Paints in
‘X-Rated’, ‘Couture Pink’ & Million Dollar Baby’, and stencils.

I have then added in some scrapbooking elements that gave me that spring feeling :)

Lots of layers.

I hope you like what I have created.

A Necklace A Mother Could Love!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, to your mothers, and any fur moms!  Hope your day is beautiful and you are spoiled.  I certainly was spoiled this morning!  Mimosas, pancakes and a mani/pedi!  It is a treat for sure!  It was a busy week but I did manage to sneak in some creating time.  My project is a re-creation (one I created with other materials in the past) since I sold the original at an art weekend event.  I had photos so I made an exact duplicate for ME!  I loved this necklace so much.

I used the Haute Mess Acrylic colors: Make it Rain, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Guilt Trip, and First Crush for the canvas part of the necklace. I mixed the paints with water to thin them out and blend them better on the canvas fabric.  ** I’m so sorry to say that I didn’t take process photos (I really got into my limited creating time and my fingers were quite messy!)…  I started by brushing the watered down First Crush onto areas of the canvas.  Then, blended Guilt Trip over areas.  I mixed Drop Dead Gorgeous with Make it Rain to create some blue greenish hues by overlapping areas.  Also, I left some areas more transparent with more water.

I stamped with a permanent ink and used some silver texture paste I had through a stencil to create the circles.  Once dry, I added the buttons, brads and gems.  I used fabric glue to add the ribbon and velveteen backing to finish this piece.  A tip… cut both the canvas and backing at the same time so that they match seamlessly.

I will be wearing this piece to an art opening reception soon!  It’s a statement piece for sure!  I hope you will get a bit of creating time for yourself.  Happy Mother’s Day to you all and Happy Sunday!

‘Don’t be Afraid to Edit’ Art Journal Page

Hello!

It’s Lisa here today to share an Art Journal Page with you.

I have started with a pink canvas page from my Park Ave Penthouse Journal.
I have given it a coat of ‘Clear Gesso’
then used ‘Molding Paste’ to stencil some patterns that I liked.

I have then adhered some gauze & tissue paper with my ‘Matte Gel’ Medium,
and then ‘Glass Bead Gel’ to add some texture.

I have then added some colour, using ‘Fallen Angel’, ‘Distortion’, ‘Broken Doll’,
‘C-Note’ and ‘Bad & Tatted’.
A little bit of stamping

I have added some tags, stapled on.
Some elements from my papers, Word Stickers and chipboard pieces.

Loving the stitching on this page!

I hope you like what I have created.
I will be back soon with some more to share with you!

Mixed Media Trinket Box + VIDEO

Hello Bad girls!
It’s Lisa here today to share a project with you.
I have created a Mixed Media Trinket Box,
using my favourite Haute Mess Mediums & Paints.

I have started with a simple cardboard trinket box from my $2 shop.

with my Haute Mess Matte Gel Medium.

I have then coated it all in Haute Mess White Gesso.
I have adhered tissue paper and other elements with my Matte Gel Medium.
I have then used my Haute Mess Glass Bead Gel, to add texture to the box.

After more gesso, I have added some colour!
I have used my Haute Mess ‘Kiss & Don’t Tell’ Acrylic Paint.

I have then lightly brushed it with Haute Mess ‘Fallen Angel’ Acrylic Paint.

To finish I have lightly rubbed it with some metal wax.
