So Loved . . . | Art Journal Page by Dale Ann Cubbage

Monday, Monday, here you are again! Well, at least there is art on Mondays!  Today I’m hoping to inspire you with a journal page and process video that I recently created for you!  This one turned out completely different than it started out, and I was surprised at where it went!  But, I’m liking it. I hope you do as well.

A Couple of Sneak Peeks . . .

The rose you see on the page is made from paper clay that I pressed in a mold and let air dry for 24 hours.  I put a coat of white Haute Mess gesso on it, then a layer of Haute Mess Gel Medium.  In the video you will see the layers of paint that I applied to it, and then it is attached to the page with hot glue.

I love my Haute Couture Paper Doll Palace art journal so much!  The pages are so sturdy and can take layer after layer of paint, mediums, glue and scraping!  I really put it through a ton of layering, and it takes it all so well!  And as it fills up with my art, it easily expands to accomodate whatever chunky embellishments I choose to put on it!  It’s turning out to be a chunky, colorful book I know I will treasure forever!

I used so many colors from the Haute Mess collection in this project, here’s a list.

Caution Tape, Bad & Tatted, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Bye Felicia, Torrid, Oops! My Bad, Bad Girl Gaudy, First Crush, Grunge and Torrid.  I also used white gesso and the Haute Mess Glass Bead Gel and Haute Mess Matte Gel medium.

 The Video

I hope you enjoy the page and the video. You can watch my full process video right here.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you find time to make some beautiful art in your Haute Mess art journal today! Please post it and let us see how you’re using yours!

Till next time,  Dale Ann

“I Am Transformed” Journal Page

Happy Monday Y’all!!  I hope you are having an inspiring start to your week!  Today I’m going to share a journal page I did that was inspired by some awesome paper butterfly cutouts that I’ve just been hanging on to for just the right project!

For this one I gessoed one of the cardstock pages in my Haute Mess Couture Journal and began applying matte gel under and over the cutouts to adhere them to the page.  Then stenciled molding paste and layered on various Haute Mess Acrylic paints and blended with water.  Finally I finished it off with a stamped title, accented with some Haute Mess Glass Bead Gel, rubbed on some metallic and splattered on some blue liquid ink.  Curious?  Well check out my process video I did for you!  Check out the link below!
