Hi BAD GIRLS! I am here today to SHARE MY MESS!!!!! Where I create….hmmm….not only do I create here…sometimes I work here…sometimes I just come here to chill and unwind. I must say for the most part it is always organized. I try to clean up after everything I do. My last studio was always a complete mess and it makes me scatter brained more than I am already…LOL….
This is the only room in my entire house that has carpet…so I splurged and got leopard…I LOVE IT! Since it’s a small room I knew I had to contain a lot of supplies against the walls…so I purchased the two cabinets. They are very tall with tons of shelves. I purchased the wire bins to organize all my goodies by category and I love them cause they are canvas lined so you can’t see all the stuff in them. Some may say nahhhhh….cause they wanna see all their supplies but for this studio I wanted a cleaner look. I know what is in every single bin…LOL. At this desk I do most of my computer work and maybe embellishing and detail work. Next to this desk on the right is my Die Cut Station where I keep both of Cricuts…one is stationary but I put one on a movable cart and it works sooooo great for me. Since the space is so small I am able to pull the cart out and away from the wall when I want to use it and then back against wall when I am finished.
Did you notice my vintage Barbie collection I keep on my desk? I always look for them when I am antique shopping. I love.love.love. altering them! It’s crazy…wild..iconic…pure FUN!
For all my painting and messier work I work on the desk on the opposite side of the room….I keep it covered with black chalkboard paper and its so fun cause I don’t have to worry about anything…I can even doodle on it! This desk is also my sewing station. I love to stitch on everything so it was a must to have a sewing table. My husband had the idea to cut down our old dining room table and make it work for this space and he did a great job! I keep all the things I use frequently on this table and above in the cabinet mounted to the wall. I also have a small printer on this table and another laptop…this way if I have a meeting in the room I can accommodate 4 people and we can all work together via computer. I also want to mention I totally stepped out of my comfort zone with this room design. I am very well known for very white shabby chic decor. I almost ordered everything in white and then I was like…nahhhh…I want contrast this time and got the new desk in grey and the cabinets in dark chocolate.
In another corner of the room I added one of my favorite little cabinets I have had like forever and I added another cart…gotta love IKEA carts!!! A lot of my paints, watercolors, pastels, colored pencils, etc. are kept in this cart. In the two turpuoise cases I keep a lot of my foam stamps. I keep a lot of my supplies in my warehouse where I have (4) 6 ft. tables to create on. I do some of my creating there too, but I am trying to gravitate here and pare down my supplies. I would be embarrassed for anyone to see how many stamps I have….OMG…I have to admit…I LOVE to SHOP!!! *wink wink* I brought to this studio some of my favorites that I frequently use.
It’s been fun sharing my little piece of heaven with you. Have a blessed day and Create Something Pretty…and maybe a little bit BAD. 😉
